Peach Purée for Babies

Peach purée needs very soft flesh with the stone and tough skin removed. Ripe peaches may mash easily; firmer fruit should be heated until fully tender.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Wash and halve the peach, remove the stone and peel if the skin is tough.

  2. Cut the flesh into pieces. Steam if needed until a piece crushes easily with a fork.

  3. Blend until smooth, or mash very soft peach for a child managing more texture. Cool cooked fruit before serving.

Serving by Age

Remove the hard stone and peel away any tough skin before blending. Serve smooth and spoonable, moving to a soft mash when your baby is ready; avoid any firm chunks.

6 months+

Serve smooth.

9 months+

Offer a very soft mash with no hard pieces.

Allergen Information

Peach is not one of the commonly listed major allergens, but fruit reactions can occur; follow any individual allergy advice.

Storage

Refrigerate freshly prepared, untouched purée promptly. If the peach was cooked, cool it first; discard remnants from the baby's bowl.
