Cauliflower Purée for Babies

Cauliflower purée is easy to prepare, but thick florets and stems need sufficient steaming to become fully tender. Blend only once they crush easily.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Wash and divide the cauliflower into similarly sized small florets, trimming any hard stem portions.

  2. Steam until the florets and thickest stems are fully soft and collapse when pressed with a fork.

  3. Blend until smooth, adding small amounts of safe water only as required. Cool before serving.

Serving by Age

Check for firm stem fragments, and thin the blended cauliflower only as much as necessary for a spoonable texture. Progress gradually to a soft mash as your baby manages more texture.

6 months+

Smooth.

9 months+

Slightly thicker.

Allergen Information

Cauliflower has no intentionally added common major allergens; individual reactions can still occur.

Storage
