Chicken Apple Barley Soup for Babies (8 months+)

Preparation

   Rinse the dry pearl barley and simmer according to package directions until thoroughly tender; add more water as needed.

   Peel and core apple and finely dice carrot; simmer until soft.

   Cook chicken separately to 74°C (165°F), then finely shred.

   Combine barley, fruit, vegetables and chicken with safe cooking liquid and mash to a thick moist soup.

   Check for firm barley and chewy chicken; cool before serving.
